It was a crisp morning in autumn and a stroll along the River Thames eventually led us to Hampton Court. This was the far end of the historical palace where a row of majestic trees on the right stood guard in the glistening morning light.

These strawberries straight from the local farmer's garden were very sweet and the remaining few put me under great duress from popping them in my mouth while I painted.

The riotous colours of spring.- tulips. These lovely flowers with their vivid reds, oranges and yellows. Lasting and holding their form for only a fleeting moment, it was a race and a challenge.

On a trip to the Far East some years back, I came across this old wooden pot with lid in an antique shop. With its deep red colours and fading gold decorations it took pride of place nestled between books in a bookcase.

Over time though it was much admired it was sometimes forgotten. Now filled with pomegranates it has again been given  pride of place in my gallery of artistic endeavours.
